Before setting up your Samsung smartwatch, make sure your smartphone is compatible. Samsung smartwatches work with Samsung Galaxy devices and select Android and iOS devices, although available features may vary depending on your phone model and operating system. Being a Samsung product, Samsung Galaxy devices offer extensive compatibility options. Ensure you've downloaded the Galaxy Wearable app from the Play Store and that your device is updated to the latest software version.
- Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic: Compatible with phones running Android 11.0 or higher and equipped with at least 1.5 GB of RAM.
- Galaxy Watch7: Compatible with phones running Android 11.0 or higher and equipped with at least 1.5 GB of RAM.
- Galaxy Watch Ultra: Compatible with phones running Android 11.0 or higher and equipped with at least 1.5 GB of RAM.
- Galaxy Watch FE: Compatible with phones running Android 11.0 or higher and equipped with at least 1.5 GB of RAM.
- Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic: Compatible with phones running Android 10.0 or higher and equipped with at least 1.5 GB of RAM.
- Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro: Compatible with phones running Android 8.0 or higher and equipped with at least 1.5 GB of RAM.

Consequently, these models are not compatible with Samsung Galaxy phones that operate on Android 14 or newer, including the Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy A25 and Galaxy A15.

- Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, and Galaxy Watch Active2: Compatible with iPhones (iPhone 5 or later) running iOS 9 and above.
- Gear Live, Gear S2, Gear Fit2, Gear S3, Gear Sport, and Gear Fit2 Pro: Compatible with iPhones (iPhone 5 or later) running iOS 9 and above.
- Galaxy Fit: Compatible with iPhone 7 or later running iOS 10 and above.
Incompatible devices
- Galaxy Watch4 series, Galaxy Watch5 series, Galaxy Watch6 series, Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch8 series: These watches rely on Google Play services, which are not supported on iOS.
- Gear, Gear 2, Gear S, and Gear Fit: These devices are not supported on iOS.
Note:
- iPad and iPod touch are not supported.
