How do I send a Text Message on the Galaxy S26?

Use the Google Messages app on your Galaxy S26 to send and receive text messages with friends, family and contacts. This guide will show you how to create a new conversation, send a message and view your chat history.

Open the Messages app

Create a new conversation

Type in a number or contact name then tap on Done

Select the RCS Message bar

Once you have typed in your text message tap on the Send button

Your sent and received messages will appear within the conversation thread

How to Delete Messages

Open the Messages app

Long press an existing text message you would like to delete

Tap on Delete

Then select Move to Bin

Please Note: Chats will be permanently deleted after 30 days. If you do not restore the deleted chat before then, you will no longer be able to view this conversation.
Attaching a Photo/Video to a Text Message

Open the Messages app

Open an existing text message conversation

Tap on the + button

Select the Photo/Video you would like to send then tap on Done

Type a message in the message bar then send off your message

Once sent you will be able to view your photo and text within the conversation thread
